This is a topic dear to my heart because I’ve raised three special needs kids. I didn’t do it alone. My husband was right there, beside me the whole time, supporting us financially, spiritually, emotionally. He was a constant source of strength and love. But, I was the one who stayed home with our children and spent the most time with them, and I cannot fully express the enormity of the job, or how deeply it has changed me. It has transformed me. My children taught me to perservere, to be patient and compassionate, to be flexible, unselfish and loving. Without them, I don’t know who I would be, but I know I wouldn’t be the person I am.
